Who books car service in Oakland
Campus visitors, clinicians, visiting faculty, and patient families use reserved cars for the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, UPMC Presbyterian, Magee-Womens Hospital, and the Carnegie Museums. Streets and institutions to name on the itinerary
Name the Cathedral of Learning, a Carnegie Mellon building, Phipps Conservatory, UPMC Presbyterian on Lothrop Street, or Magee-Womens on Halket Street. Forbes Avenue and Fifth Avenue are busy bus and pedestrian corridors. Exact tower names matter because Presbyterian, Montefiore, and Magee have separate entrances.
Airport access from Oakland

Local planning notes
Late August move-in, graduation weekends, and Schenley Park events can close or slow campus roads. If you need waiting during an appointment, book hourly charter so waiting is included in the reserved block. A one-way transfer can still include an agreed wait when that wait is on the quote.

Visitors who need more than one building in a day, such as a campus tour followed by a department meeting or two appointments at different UPMC facilities, usually book hourly. The car waits nearby between stops, and waiting inside the reserved block is included. Hourly service is $120 per hour for a sedan, $150 for an SUV, $230 for an S-Class, and $240 for a Sprinter, each with a three-hour minimum. For a single ride between PIT or a Downtown hotel and one Oakland building, a transfer quote is simpler; point-to-point transfers start at $130 for a sedan and $160 for an SUV.
Getting into and out of Oakland
From Downtown, the usual approaches are Fifth Avenue, Forbes Avenue, the Boulevard of the Allies, and the Parkway East. Through much of Oakland, Forbes Avenue carries traffic outbound and Fifth Avenue carries it inbound, so the side of the street a car arrives on depends on the building you name. Bigelow Boulevard connects toward the Strip District and the North Side, and the Parkway East links Oakland with the airport corridor through Downtown.
Museums, Schenley Park, and events
The Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History, the Carnegie Library, Phipps Conservatory, and Schenley Park draw evening events and weekend visitors. Pitt basketball is played at the Petersen Events Center in Oakland, while Pitt football is at Acrisure Stadium on the North Shore, so game days affect both neighborhoods.
