Three corridors out of Pittsburgh

Almost every trip on this page starts on one of three roads, and knowing which one yours uses explains most of the timing and the quote. Pittsburgh International sits west of the city, so airport runs begin on I-376, the Parkway West. What happens next depends on whether your address is inside the rivers or out in the suburbs.

For Downtown, the Strip District, the South Side, Oakland, and Squirrel Hill, the car stays on the Parkway West into the Fort Pitt Tunnel and comes out onto the Fort Pitt Bridge facing the Golden Triangle. The tunnel is the usual reason an airport run into the city takes longer than expected, which is why so many route notes on this site mention it. Squirrel Hill adds a second tunnel on the Parkway East.

Cranberry Township, Wexford, and most of the South Hills are reached another way. The I-79 interchange off the Parkway West lets north-side runs stay west of Downtown, and Mt. Lebanon trips often leave by Banksville Road or I-79, so neither needs the Fort Pitt Tunnel at all. Intercity trips follow their own highways: I-79 south to Morgantown, the Pennsylvania Turnpike east to Philadelphia, and the turnpikes or I-79 and I-80 toward Cleveland.

Transfer or hourly: choosing the booking

Book a transfer when the car only needs to carry you from one address to another: a PIT arrival to a Downtown hotel, a campus drop in Oakland, or a one-way run to Morgantown. The quote reflects the addresses, the vehicle class, and the date and time, and the written quote names the pickup entrance so the chauffeur is not guessing at a terminal door or a hospital lobby.

Book hourly when the plan has more than one stop or the car needs to stay: client meetings across Downtown and Oakland, a Cranberry office visit followed by a flight, or a day in Cleveland with a return that evening. Hourly time starts at the reserved pickup, the car waits between stops inside the block, and the three-hour minimum applies to every vehicle class.

If you are unsure which fits, enter both addresses and the timing on the booking page and review the booking options. The route pages below cover the usual path for each pairing and the vehicle that suits it.

How route quotes work

A route quote is a point-to-point transfer: one vehicle from your pickup to your drop-off at a written price. The quote reflects the exact addresses, the vehicle class, the date and time, and any agreed stop. It includes chauffeur gratuity and applicable service and card fees, and tolls, parking, and airport fees are confirmed on the same quote.

Point-to-point transfers start at $130 for a sedan and $160 for an SUV. S-Class and Sprinter transfers, and longer regional trips, are written for the itinerary. Pages for each route explain the usual path, the entrances to name, and which vehicle fits.

When hourly is the better fit

If the car should wait at the other end, such as a same-day round trip to Cleveland or a campus visit in Morgantown, ask for hourly service. Hourly service is $120 per hour for a sedan, $150 for an SUV, $230 for an S-Class, and $240 for a Sprinter, each with a three-hour minimum, and waiting inside the reserved block is included.
